Autumn’s Coming

The sun is shining this morning, but the grass is still damp with dew. I sighed as I stared down the garden and felt a chill in the air. It’s that time of year again when I sadly say goodbye to summer.

Summers started fading
There’s a cold chill in the breeze
And Autumn has just started
Sucking leaves from off the trees.

The sunshine’s getting lazy
Lying lower in the sky
Deceiving us with brightness
But less heat in which to lie.

When Autumn’s work is done
And Winter nudges him away
I’ll sigh and dream of Summer
If only she would stay.

I love Summer.

But soon it will be Christmas! Bring on the turkey!
